About Beyond Poodles

Since the day I was born there has always been a dog by my side. All animals are special, intelligent and fascinating, but dogs hold a very special place in my heart. Growing up, they helped get me through some seriously tough times and become the person I am today. They taught me patience and understanding and that every individual has their own unique path to success. My passion for breeding stems from my passion for dog training. I LOVE my job—I love helping people and I love that I get to do that through helping dogs. 

 

As a dog trainer I take a positive and science based approach when teaching dogs and their humans how to work as a team to resolve problem behaviors. As a breeder, this remains the same. There are critical learning periods in a dog’s life and it’s the breeder’s responsibility to teach crucial, life long lessons during those times. Resource guarding, startle & fear recovery and body handling are just a few examples.

 

Everybody wants a dog that's down to go on a hike, hang at the bar, go with you to a cafe, and chill in the house when it's time to chill. A buddy you can truly just BE with and not have to worry about how they’re affecting the environment or how the environment is affecting them. All these behaviors are taught.. period! As a breeder and dog trainer, I am here to do two things: make sure your puppy gets the top of the line emotional and cognitive education, and make sure you go home with a puppy that is best suited to your life.

Beyond Poodles go home with a clean bill of health, sound minds and a private dog trainer. We will work together to make sure the puppy raising process goes as smoothly as possible and you and your puppy are prepared for everything life with a dog entails. We will focus on foundational skills, breed specific enrichment and relationship building.
